Testimony of Jong Kim

Missionary experiences of Jong Kim, a Seventy apostle of the One Mighty and Strong:

This afternoon I went to pay the phone bill. Coming out of the payment place, next door I noticed there is a tiny store with announcements in Spanish, and I noticed "Biblias". So I went in and saw that it sells drinks, candies, souvenirs of all kinds, especially the Catholic-style portraits of the Lord Jesus Christ when he was on the earth in his flesh of blood. I saw only one large and expensive copy of a Bible in Spanish. No one was inside except a kid and the store owner, both of apparent Mexican descent. The kid was apparently the man's (who appeared in his 50's and up with graying hair) grandson or another relative of his. I asked him if he had anymore Bibles for a low price, for I wanted a copy of Spanish translation, and he said he was out of stock and will be getting more on Monday. Then he said he had one more copy, bringing it behind the counter, the New American Bible (St. Joseph's ed.), which is authorized of the Roman Catholic Church, in English. The conversation quickly centered on the Christian religion, which he ruefully said many people profess, saying that they believe in the Bible, but most just read a chapter or two here and there and go off to the movies and do not practice its teachings, which we both agreed are righteous but hard to practice. I said, Yes the path to eternal life is straight and narrow and he agreed. I asked him if he believes in the Book of Mormon, and he replied that there are many 'Bibles' out there, such as the Moslem 'Bible', referring to the Koran, and that they are all good for teaching righteousness to the people that they might be approved of God and live good, moral lives. I thought I should tell him that the Lord Jesus said no one enters comes to the Father except through him, that there is only one way to heaven, but I did not. He said that he believes all these 'Bibles' lead to one and the same God. I asked him if he's a Catholic, and he said that he is born a Catholic, but he doesn't consider himself to be a practicing one, saying with signs of regret he does not do all the ceremonies daily that a devout Catholic is supposed to do. Some time during this discussion, after I started mentioning the Book of Mormon I believe, I found myself filled with the Holy Ghost and found myself quickened to lead him through the conversation, for I desired to teach him, a Lamanite, the everlasting Gospel. Unfortunately, he, whose name is Juan I later learned, seemed to just discuss his views on religion. But I was patient with him, and I found that he is a decent man desiring to do good. He talked about the Lord teaching that the poor and the sick are to be aided by his people, and how few actually do it, and so forth, then he mentioned the Garden of Eden, and I asked him if he knows where it is. He said there are different ideas on that, but he thought it was removed from the access of men. I told him that it is in western Missouri, around Kansas City-Independence, and this by revelation from heaven. Now Juan seemed to detect that I was preaching to him and replied that there are many false and greedy preachers in the United States who ask for their followers' money because God said so and build themselves many luxurious mansions and buy cars and even private jets. I said that many take the name of the Lord in vain to get gain and riches, but nevertheless God has at times sent his authorized Prophet to teach and lead his people, one like unto Enoch, Moses, Jesus Christ who is the greatest, Peter. I asked him to read John 4:44, how the Lord said that a prophet has no honor in his own house. He read and seemed slightly impressed by this, and I told him this is a key to detecting false prophets, for false prophets materially prosper off the people and are not persecuted. I was amazed to discern that I was still filled with the light of the Holy Ghost in my frame and in my mind. I asked if he believes in the Bible and he said yes, and I said, well, as this Bible was being written, the people of God were receiving revelations, even so now there has to be one who continues to receive revealations from the Lord by his Spirit, or else the church of Jesus Christ cannot be. Around this time he mentioned the Pope and how believing in one's own heart in the Lord God and doing good is enough more or less, so I talked about the necessity of baptism which he agreed with and I said that the next ordinance is the laying on of hands for the gift of the Holy Ghost, and he replied that yes there is confirmation, but he seemed to be talking about something else. I asked him, who has the authority to do this? And he said only the highest authorities can do this, meaning the Catholic Church, such as a bishop. He said a priest cannot do this, which I agreed with in the sense that a priest (of the Aaronic order) cannot confer the Holy Ghost but can baptize, perhaps I should have mentioned this to Juan. I asked him, who can ordain a bishop? He said, the Pope, or someone that the Pope designates. But I replied that as Paul was an apostle and ordained bishops as recorded in the New Testament, only an apostle can ordain bishops and I pointed out that the Pope, when this office was started was the bishop of Rome, and not an apostle. But alas, Juan said that this was true back then, but now the Pope is the apostle, or one like it and he has archbishops, since things change with time, to which I replied the Lord Jesus is the same yesterday, today and forever, that God's ways are the same always. I also pointed out that an archbishop is a man-made office like the Pope, but unfortunately he was firm in his Catholic belief, even though he agreed that God does not change. I told him that another way of detecting the true Prophet of God by the power of the Holy Ghost. He seemed willing to believe this. One good sign throughout all this was that he would often concentrate more on speaking with me than attending to an occasional customer, for this was a tiny store and not very busy, and often I would yield voluntarily so that the customer's needs might be taken care of. I asked him to read Psalm 110:4, which was badly translated in the Catholic Bible, taking out "Thou art a priest for ever after the order of Melchizedek," and instead, "like Melchizedek". I pointed out that the Pope does not claim the Melchizedek Priesthood, which is necessary for the laying on of hands for the gift of the Holy Ghost, for example, but this principle made no impression upon Juan. I felt it was no use to discuss this further through Hebrews 7, and more importantly because I sensed that the Spirit of God had departed from me. I felt that I had taken a diplomatic approach to discussing the Catholic Church, but in any case I quickly changed the subject and asked him, does he know where the American Indian comes from? Upon this I was filled with the light of the God of Israel again, and inside I rejoiced. Juan said that he himself is not sure and does not know, but the scientists say they are of the Mongolians through the land bridge millions of years ago. Juan politely said that he has to let me go, but I wanted to continue a little further and I said that actually the American Indian is of Israel, from a family descended from the tribe of Manasseh and also two other families (I meant Zoram and Ishmael), that escaped from Judah about 600 years before Jesus Christ, as God warned them to leave Judah as it was about to be destroyed by the Babylonians. And that they traveled through the Arabian peninsula and built a ship by God's commandment and set sail through the Indian Ocean and through Pacific, arriving in Central America. But Juan objected that there's no proof and besides, the North American Indian is of a different race than the South. I told him that there's ample proof as far as archaeology, such as pyramid-like temples of God in Central America, which were inspired by the Jews' remembrance of the Egyptian pyramids. That rocks with Hebrew writings carved in them mentioning Judah and such things have been found out of the earth, esp. from the old Indian burial mounds in New Jersey, New Mexico, Tennessee. And the reason more physical evidence is found in the Central and South Americas is because just before the resurrected Lord Jesus visited America (which especially seemed to stimulate Juan's interest), the people were very wicked and there were catastrophes from north to south, with volcanic eruptions, terrible storms, gigantic earthquakes, hails, and that this was far more severe in the north, where lands were turned upside down, as it were. And only the faithful survived and taught the Gospel by the Lord Jesus Christ, upon whose departure the people prospered for about 400 years before Satan overcame them and the people became very wicked as before and destroyed themselves through wars. And as far as the different kinds of Indians, I told him that when the Lord separated the people at the tower of Babel, they were all separated into different races also, and in the same way the Lord separated the Jews that came to America, and all are descended from one Father, Adam, and one Mother, Eve, and this earth is nearly 6000 years old, so that all of humanity are brothers. Juan said that the scientists say the Indians are millions of years and so on, so I said has he heard of Joseph Smith? Juan said yes. I said that there is a successor of Joseph Smith and he has received a revelation from the God of heaven that that there are other planets inhabited with people, and one such was destroyed by God long ago and re-organized by God to form this earth in its present form, and hence the bones of men and dinosaurs that are pulled out of the earth found to be millions of years old by scientists. Juan said that he believes in God and the Bible, but also that he believes religion is separate from science and that my preaching no scientist would believe, and I replied that I am preaching to him because he is of Israel and emphasized that only true religion is true science. I thought this was enough for the day and told him I would come back next week for the Spanish Bible. I thanked him, we shook hands and I left, thanking the Lord in my heart for this opportunity to testify of the everlasting Gospel to this man pure in heart. Amen.

Brother Art,

Yesterday I visited Stephanie's house and this is what happened:
She told me that she read what I gave her and called the Mormons about it, and they told her, in her uncertain words, "allusion ...", which I understand to mean they were saying your first vision was an illusion. She also said they told her they've never heard of Art Bulla. She had two of her friends in the backyard, and I began to talk about your meeting a certain man of exceptional intelligence who stayed with you for a week in June 1969 in college (later I was going to reveal that he was translated John the Apostle, but never got the opportunity) and on 12-29-69 you were on your way to being inducted into the Army in Raleigh, NC when you were caught up to third heaven like Isaiah and Paul and Joseph Smith and met the Father and the Son, conversed with them in the language of Adam for 45 min to an hour. I wasn't able to finish because the Mormon elders came: Clifton (out on mission field for 9 months, from the state of Washington) and Kawashima (came from Japan a month ago and just got started). First thing, we watched the Church film "Lamb of God" which I had seen before. Then we all went outside and I asked Clifton how the bones and fossils found out of the earth can be accounted for, since this earth is about 6000 years old and they are found to be much older. He said he doesn't know, although the days of creation in Genesis can be interpreted to be ages, he said. I must say I was privately disappointed that he was not taught by his church Abraham 3, which is part of their scriptures also. I politely reminded him of Abraham 3:24 and therefore perhaps it may be that the organization of this earth in its present state was by 'recycling' from the remains of another earth (actually that's the fact, since you received this knowledge from the Lord), and he basically said yes, that's correct with a passive indifference and I left it at that. I was hoping Stephanie would pay attention to this, but she was playing with her friends along the guard rail. She has several brothers and sisters in their teens, and apparently their parents were at work. (Yesterday or day before I tried to speak to one of her brothers if he wanted to hear the Gospel and he said he's busy.) Then the elders taught her II Nephi 33, we all went through the usual motions, and both elders concluded with their declarations of their faith in the Lord Jesus Christ and his great mercy and blood atoning sacrifice. Clifton then asked me if I had any questions, so I asked them to turn to III Nephi 20 and 21 and led them to read a couple of verses from each chapter where Jesus prophesies the OMS, without getting them to read the part about unbelievers will be cut off, etc. I told them that the prophecy can't be about Jesus but rather about someone else, and Clifton said he had not really considered this before and politely asked me what I was really trying to tell him. Stephanie looked slightly uncomfortable and the elder asked her if they can schedule a baptism soon, on which she hesitated and was asked if she wanted to go inside the house, so she went to the backyard with her two friends. Then I gave the elders my testimony of you with great power, for the Holy Ghost put streams of intelligence in my mind continually, so that I was surprised at my own words even as I was speaking them, for I am usually not that eloquent with rapid-fire smoothness in speaking and scriptures were effortlessly coming out of my mouth. I did not, however, sense the light of the Holy Ghost in my frame as I testified, but nevertheless I know that it was by the Spirit that I was able to preach. I told them about your first vision and your testimony of the Book of Mormon, how you were filled with the Holy Ghost upon reading I Nephi 1:1 in 1971, and after your baptism you couldn't help it, went out and preached, during which an angel protected you from a prankster green beret and there was an earthquake with an accompanying voice from heaven when the Army sargeant was reviling you for religious reasons and you were about to reply. You became an elders' quorum President (perhaps not correct, some other office in that quorum perhaps) and things happened so that you were ordained a Seventy apostle by Rex Dee Pinegar, about whom Clifton nodded in recognition. (I told them I remember seeing on TV Pinegar giving the opening prayer for the second day of spring 2000 conference in Salt Lake City.) Two weeks after you were ordained a Seventy, I informed them, President Spencer W. Kimball ordered all Seventies to be ordained by stake Presidents, who are high priests (who are local standing authority, not general traveling authority like the Twelve and the Seventy), and that Pinegar himself soon allowed himself to be ordained a high priest by obeying Kimball's unrighteous dictates, which is contrary to the order of heaven. Thus, you became the only one who remained a true Seventy. I told them you received a revelation in early 1979 to set the house of God in order by virtue of your Apostleship as the OMS or Root of Jesse for the national salvation of Ephraim and Manasseh. I asked him if he knew about the Root of Jesse, he said he's heard of that name before, so I referred to Isaiah 11: Stem and Rod and Root, explained their true identities, with you, Art Bulla, being the Root. Throughout all this, they just looked at me and heard silently, raising no objections, looking at the scriptures that I pointed out. I had them read Zechariah 4:11-14 and D&C 13:1, explaining that you are Messiah to Ephraim and Manasseh, for their national salvation in America, and also had them read D&C 85:7-8, these things being all about a second testator or witness of God the Father. Zechariah verses piqued Clifton's curiosity and he briefly attempted to interpret it, but he could not. I also gave them my personal testimony of you, how I first received the revelation that you are true on 4-1-2000 and also the experience of baptism by fire and by the Holy Ghost after you baptized me in the Sea of Cortez last year and also a more fiery manifestation of the Spirit received at the Greyhound bus station in Phoenix, Az. I had them read 3 verses from Alma 32, that you taught me the principles therein and how I know for sure that the personal revelation doctrine in Alma 32 is true because that's how I received the Holy Ghost myself. I was going to keep talking, privately surprised that I was allowed to speak for as long as I did, then Clifton said he has an appointment at 6 pm, so I shook their hands and thanked them for listening and they left on their bicycles without saying anything. They didn't seem outwardly upset, at least. I figured I had no more preaching to do toward Stephanie, so I left. I am glad that no one reviled. I believe I handled the situation well, for I was filled with the Holy Ghost during prayers, before the meeting and afterwards. Soon afterwards, I wasn't physically tired, but felt this overwhelming desire to sleep, so took a nap.

Today is April 6, 2001 -- Halleluiah, our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ! Merry Christmas, Brother.

My Testimony of One Mighty and Strong (the Root of Jesse)

When I first discovered artbulla.com on the late night of April 1, 2000, I read the online
Revelations of Jesus Christ received by Prophet Art Bulla in great wonderment and I could not, in my mind, disagree with anything in it, and all of a sudden I found myself filled with the light of the Holy Ghost, and I just understood that Art Bulla really is the One Mighty and Strong prophesied by Isaiah and Joseph Smith. For, the things of God no man knoweth, but by the Spirit of God. This manifestation of the Holy Ghost was too marvelous a sensation to be accurately described, but the Book of Mormon gives a remarkably good approximation, as Brother Art later taught me:

Alma 32:28
Now, we will compare the word unto a seed. Now, if ye give place, that a seed may be planted in your heart, behold, if it be a true seed, or a good seed, if ye do not cast it out by your unbelief, that ye will resist the Spirit of the Lord, behold, it will begin to swell within your breasts; and when you feel these swelling motions, ye will begin to say within yourselves -- It must needs be that this is a good seed, or that the word is good, for it beginneth to enlarge my soul; yea, it beginneth to enlighten my understanding, yea, it beginneth to be delicious to me.

Jeremiah 20:9
... his word was in mine heart as a burning fire shut up in my bones, ...

Helaman 5:44-45
... and they were filled with that joy which is unspeakable and full of glory.
And behold, the Holy Spirit of God did come down from heaven, and did enter into their hearts,
and they were filled as if with fire, and they could speak forth marvelous words.

Indeed for a minute or so, I felt a powerful presence of energy spiritually swelling my chest, in a very slow and gradual cycle of spiritual pulsations, as it were, and I also discerned a presence of energy or light upon my shoulders and upon my head.

The next morning, on April 2, 2000, was the second and closing day of the year's LDS Church spring conference, and I saw on the satellite TV, Rex D. Pinegar delivering the opening prayer in the Tabernacle! I marveled in my mind, for I had never heard of Rex D. Pinegar until the night before, on artbulla.com, in which it was related that Rex D. Pinegar was the only true Seventy (i.e., an apostle, which is a traveling minister, and not a high priest, which is a standing minister) left in the Church as of 1974, and that in spring 1974, in North Carolina, Rex D. Pinegar had ordained Art Bulla to the office of a Seventy in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. Less than two weeks after Rex D. Pinegar unwittingly ordained Art Bulla to the Apostleship, (which Art Bulla wrote: "is the Priesthood of Melchizedec, and the office of an Apostle circumscribes every other office within this Priesthood, saith the Lord. There is no higher Priesthood than Melchizedec. The fundamentalists claim there is a separate order called Patriarchal, but this is Melchizedec also. The office of a Patriarch is circumscribed by the office of an Apostle."
-- TPJS sec. 6: "Three Grand Orders"  1. "Fulness of the Melchizedek Priesthood"
2. "Patriarchal authority"  3. "Levitical Priesthood"
-- D&C 107:39, "It is the duty of the Twelve [apostles], in all large branches of the church, to ordain evangelical ministers [patriarchs], as they shall be designated unto them by revelation--")
President Spencer W. Kimball ordered him to be ordained a high priest (Pinegar obeyed the order that all Seventies are to be ordained by stake presidents, who are but high priests), which is contrary to the order of heaven, said Joseph Smith and Brigham Young, for the Seventy are to be selected from quorums of the elders (Art Bulla was previously president of a quorum of elders), and no high priest is to be a Seventy and vice versa. Moreover, vacancies in the quorum of the Twelve apostles are to be filled from among the Seventy apostles, but this law of God the Church had violated since the tenure of President Heber J. Grant, who became the seventh President of the Church in 1918 and began to corrupt the Priesthood starting in 1921 by ordaining men to their first Melchizedek Priesthood offices in the Church without first conferring the Priesthood of Melchizedek upon them (President John Taylor had prophesied that this would happen during the time of the seventh President), which error was corrected to some extent among the Seventies by B.H. Roberts, a true Seventy apostle, so that by the 1970's Rex D. Pinegar was the only one left with uncorrupted Priesthood and Apostleship lineage, for all the others who are supposed to be apostles, including the Twelve, were high priests only. Long before President Kimball's 1974 order that stake presidents (who are high priests) ordain Seventies, most Seventies were selected from among the quorums of high priests. During Heber J. Grant's Presidency over the Church, the office of an assistant to the Twelve was established in the Church without the Lord's sanction. Assistants (who were selected from among the quorums of high priests, who are eligible to be stake patriarchs, bishops, stake presidents, etc. but not to be apostles) to the Twelve apostles took the place of the Seventies (in violation of D&C 107:25-26,33-35,38-39), so that vacancies in the Twelve were filled incorrectly from among the high priest assistants to the Twelve. Gordon B. Hinckley, for example, was originally ordained a high priest, therefore he cannot be an apostle, so that he is not the true President of the Church of Jesus Christ. Neither are his two counselors and the Twelve and all the Seventies, for they had all been first ordained high priests, who are not to be apostles. Therefore the keys of the Priesthood of the Son of God are now held by Art Bulla the One Mighty and Strong, even as Joseph Smith had prophesied in D&C 113 and 85. Also see III Nephi 20 and 21.

Joseph F. Smith, Imp. Era 4:394, Mar. 1901
"The giving of the Priesthood should precede and accompany ordination to office, unless it be possessed by previous bestowal and ordination. Surely a man cannot possess an appendage to the Priesthood without possessing the Priesthood itself, which he cannot obtain unless it be authoritatively conferred upon him."

John Taylor, Seventies Council Minutes, Mar. 30, 1887
"If there be any doubt respecting the sufficiency of the ordination, (it would be) far better to remove it by giving him another ordination that will leave no room for question than to have disputes about its validity."

Conference Report, September, October, 1961, p. 90 (INCORRECT DOCTRINE)
"An announcement that members of the First Council of Seventy of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints had been ordained High Priests to give them power to set in order all things pertaining to the Church as they visit among the Stakes and Missions ..."

On May 26, 2000, I was baptized by Apostle Art Bulla in the Sea of Cortez, and when I came out of the water, he said that he could see the Holy Ghost quickening my spirit, but I personally did not feel any fiery sensation, though I felt a calm relief and soberness, with the burdens of sin lifted from my soul. I then received the Holy Ghost by the laying on of Art Bulla's hands on my head, and about two hours later I was visited by the Spirit of God, even baptism by fire and by the Holy Ghost: While reading a tract given to me by Art Bulla, I felt my head, or my mind, expand. It was a most unmistakably edifying sensation, and then I was filled with a most remarkable feeling of peace and comfort in my heart.

Doctrine and Covenants 5:16
And behold, whosoever believeth on my words, them will I visit with the manifestation of my Spirit; and they shall be born of me, even of water and of the Spirit --

Alma 32:34-35
... for ye know that the word hath swelled your souls, and ye also know that it hath sprouted up, that your understanding doth begin to be enlightened, and your mind doth begin to expand.
O then, is not this real? I say unto you, Yea, because it is light; and whatsoever is light, is good, because it is discernible, therefore ye must know that it is good; ...

D&C 50:23-24
And that which doth not edify is not of God, and is darkness.
That which is of God is light; and he that receiveth light, and continueth in God, receiveth more light; and that light groweth brighter and brighter until the perfect day.

On May 28, 2000, Art Bulla the Lord's anointed conferred upon me the Priesthood of Melchizedek and ordained me to the office of a Seventy, as the Lord had called me to labor in his vineyard for the salvation of souls, by revelation to his anointed Art Bulla.

I stayed at Art Bulla's home for 4 days in late May of 2000. Several times while conversing with him, I felt the gentle influence of the Lord's Spirit for an instant at the bottom of my heart, each time it happened. This is according to the prophecy in D&C 85:7, "And it shall come to pass that I, the Lord God, will send one mighty and strong, ..., clothed with light for a covering, ..." It was somewhat comparable to the testimonies of the apostles of Jesus Christ:

Luke 24:32
And they said one to another, Did not our hearts burn within us, while he talked with us by the way, and while he opened to us the scriptures?

Through Art Bulla's blessing by the laying on of his hands on my head, I was miraculously healed of a terrible allergy, for before going to see the Prophet, I was quite miserable all day long in ailment. Even the day before Art Bulla healed me, I still occasionally showed allergic symptoms, though I was in arid desert. Since the blessing, I showed no more symptoms of allergy.

Mark 16:17-18
And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues;
They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them: they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover.

During my return trip home from Mexico, I was standing in a line at the Greyhound bus terminal in Phoenix, Arizona, and as I was pondering D&C 84:85, "Neither take ye thought beforehand what ye shall say; but treasure up in your minds continually the words of life, and it shall be given you in the very hour that portion that shall be meted unto every man," I thought how it reminded me of John 14:26, "But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you." At that very moment, I was again visited by the power of the Holy Ghost. I actually sensed something coming down from above me and kindling my heart from the depths of my bowels, from which proceeded forth sanctifying light that pierced throughout my upper torso and my head, yea, it filled up my soul with light in a most powerful inner manifestation of fire and of the Holy Ghost. I then understood to the marrow of my bones, not only intellectually, that the above two verses are verily of the Only Begotten Son of God.

On July 21, 2000, I received the following email from Prophet Art Bulla:
"The Lord says that you need to obtain a testimony by prayer that I am the OMS that you be not shaken."
Shortly after midnight in early Tuesday morning of the following week, I heeded his counsel by first reading Revelations of Jesus Christ 11:22, "And if any, saith the Lord, desire a witness from me that these things are verily true, he or she shall humble himself before me in mighty prayer and I the Father shall visit him or her with fire and the Holy Ghost which beareth record of the Father and his Sons which are born, not by man nor the will of man, but abide Priests forever after the Order of Melchizedec, saith the Lord," and then I got down on my knees and with faith asked for a witness from the Father that Art Bulla is the One Mighty and Strong, on which my mind and heart were filled with fire and with the Holy Ghost throughout the rest of my prayer, so powerful that it may perhaps be described as a continuous sensation of spiritual 'movement' and 'melting' inside of me and increased my faith immeasurably. The intensity and depth of feeling of this personal revelation was comparable to when I had prayed to the Father about the truth of his Adamhood in May 2000, before traveling to meet Prophet Art, during which my frame shook, being moved by the power and influence of the Holy Ghost. Until that point, I could logically conclude that Michael Adam the Ancient of Days has to be God the Father from examining the scriptures, but after that prayer in May 2000, I could not help but willingly confess that Adam is God the Father and that Jesus Christ is the Only Begotten Son of translated Adam. Jesus Christ is the Son of Man.

Since then, I have received many other personal revelations by the power and influence and whisperings of the Holy Ghost. I testify that all these things are true, in the name of the Lord. No man's subtle and deceptive reasoning can controvert what I know to be true. Yea, there is God in heaven and he formed the earth and all things therein. Amen.

Alma 5:45-47
... Behold, I testify unto you that I do know that these things whereof I have spoken are true. And how do ye suppose that I know of their surety?
Behold, I say unto you they are made known unto me by the Holy Spirit of God. Behold, I have fasted and prayed many days that I might know these things of myself. And now I do know of myself that they are true; for the Lord God hath made them manifest unto me by his Holy Spirit; and this is the spirit of revelation which is in me.
And moreover, I say unto you that it has thus been revealed unto me, that the words which have been spoken by our fathers are true, even so according to the spirit of prophecy which is in me, which is also by the manifestation of the Spirit of God.

Revelation 19:10
... I am thy fellowservant, and of thy brethren that have the testimony of Jesus: worship God: for the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy.

In the fall of 1998, I read Genesis and John, and while I did not understand all things, it was deeply impressed into my mind that I needed to receive personal revelations through prayers of faith, the Holy Spirit being the channel of communication between the Lord God and me. In January 1999, I found the Book of Mormon (dark blue paperback copy) in a used book section of a coin shop and bought it for $3 out of curiosity. Inside the book was a narrow piece of paper printed with a sort of frequently asked questions, out of which the one that caught my attention was, How does one know if the Book of Mormon is true or not? This was answered by referring to Moroni 10:4-5, which when I looked it up, greatly impressed me, for it was about receiving personal revelations by the power of the Spirit of God. I found later that this doctrine of receiving personal revelations is taught throughout the Book of Mormon, and that it's a book filled with pure righteousness. I received my first testimony of Jesus (if reading the book of John wasn't) in the spring of 1999, when I cried out unto Jesus Christ (I did not know at the time that I am supposed to pray to the Father) for my salvation from my sins and closed the prayer with, "Jesus Christ is the Lord of lords and King of kings! Amen." At that very moment, I felt my heart instantaneously pierced by a jolt of 'lightning' from heaven, and I just understood that my prayer was heard in heaven and that Jesus of Nazareth did truly live in flesh 2000 years ago and was crucified, that he is the Lord. A few weeks later, I was flipping through the pages of John one morning, and I came upon the words in John 3:5, "Jesus answered, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born of water and of the Spirit, he cannot enter into the kingdom of God." I could not understand its meaning before, but this time I did, for my mind had been quickened, and I realized that I had to be baptized, but the question remained, Who could do this? (I was not yet aware of the Priesthood of the Son of God.) In summer that year, I read Acts of the Apostles and realized that the next ordinance after baptism for the remission of sins is laying on of hands for the gift of the Holy Ghost. In late August 1999, I carefully examined 1 Nephi of the Book of Mormon and relevant archaeology and anthropology, also learning that the Bible prophesies it in Ezekiel 37:16,19 and Isaiah 29:11-12,18 and then I obtained a sure testimony of the Book of Mormon through a prayer of faith and was baptized into the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. I was later ordained a priest in the Priesthood of Aaron. While I found that most members of the Church are good, decent folks, I sensed a deep spiritual malaise within the Church and was somewhat uncomfortable with the lack of written revelations in the Church for so long. Moreover, their strict, unreasonable adherence to the health advice of abstaining from tobacco, alcohol and coffee/tea (D&C 89 says it's not a commandment, but a word of wisdom from the Lord) bothered me, though I personally had always abstained completely from tobacco products and, for the most part, from the other things also, out of my own will throughout my life. In December 1999, I read Isaiah 28, which begins with "Woe to the crown of pride, to the drunkards of Ephraim, whose glorious beauty is a fading flower, which are on the head of the fat valleys of them that are overcome with wine! Behold, the Lord hath a mighty and strong one, which as a tempest of hail and a destroying storm, as a flood of mighty waters overflowing, shall cast down to the earth with the hand. The crown of pride, the drunkards of Ephraim, shall be trodden under feet:"
I sensed that this had to be a latter-day revelation about those called 'Mormons' by the world, but I was uncertain as to the meaning of verse 2, which prophesies, "Behold, the Lord hath a mighty and strong one." In April of the next year, by the grace of God I did obtain a correct understanding of Isaiah 28, as already related. I know without a shadow of doubt that Art Bulla is the One Mighty and Strong (the Root of Jesse, see Isaiah 11 and also Isaiah 52, as well as D&C 103:15-20) come to set the house of God in order, for the redemption of Zion. Amen.
